All-On-4 Treatment Concept
Valparaiso, IN

Attractive, natural-looking teeth help us look and feel our best. The loss or damage of even a single tooth can have a considerable negative impact on everyday life and self-esteem. People lose their teeth for many reasons: dental decay, trauma, systemic diseases and genetics. Missing teeth, damaged teeth and loose fitting dentures can cause the jawbone to shrink, shifting of teeth, unstable bite and damage to jaw joints, jaw muscles and other teeth. You may no longer be able to eat many of the foods you enjoyed or have become self-conscious about your appearance or smile. At Michael Drone Dentistry & Prosthodontics, we have several solutions, including the All-on-4® Treatment Concept dental solution.

The All-on-4® Treatment Concept is a revolutionary dental implant procedure that has been specifically designed for the following:
All On 4 image
•  Edentulous patients (not having any adult teeth)
•  Partially edentulous patients (few remaining adult teeth)
•  Patients with damaged teeth, patients with loose fitting dentures or unstable partial dentures
•  Patients informed by their dentist that they do not have enough bone for dental implants
•  Patients who have waited too long for dental care
•  Patients with periodontal (gum) disease

The All-on-4® Treatment Concept protocol involves the placement of four dental implants and securing a customized prosthetic dental bridge all in one day. The All-on-4® Treatment Concept is very safe with proven scientific results and success rates. This dental implant solution has changed the lives for many. Michael Drone Dentistry & Prosthodontics is recognized as a leader in implant dentistry and in this contemporary implant solution in Valparaiso, Indiana.

Most dental implant procedures are performed in the dental office using local anesthetic or other forms of sedation. Prosthodontists, oral surgeons and periodontists are the most specialized dental professionals in implant dentistry. Our team of specialists has provided you with a brief outline of the All-on-4® Treatment Concept protocol below.

Initial Consultation

The first step is for you to meet with our highly specialized team for an oral examination of your mouth, a 3D CT scan to evaluate your jawbone health and provide options for your dental concerns. If you are a candidate for the All-on-4® Treatment Concept (most patients are), then we will make impressions of your upper and lower jaws to fabricate your customized dental bridge to secure to your implants at your next visit.

Day of Treatment

Our friendly staff will greet you and escort you to a private surgical suite, provide you with any pre-operative instructions and answer any questions. Our priority is for you to be very comfortable. Our surgical team will provide you with sedation medication to make you feel totally relaxed during the entire procedure.

All-on-4® Treatment Concept Protocol

Once you are sedated and anesthetized, the surgeon will remove any teeth, if needed, and place four dental implants. Two dental implants will be placed near the front of your jaw and the other two dental implants will be placed at a 45 degree angle in the back region of the jaw. These angled dental implants avoid damaging vital oral structures such as the nerve, sinus and weakened bone. Immediately after the implants are placed your customized dental bridge is attached to your dental implants.

Post-Operative Care

Detailed instructions will be provided on how to care for your new teeth over the next few days and months. You will be provided with pain medication, antibiotics and mouth rinses.

Healing Time

A soft diet program will need to be followed over the next several weeks while the bone heals and attaches to the implants, known as osseointegration. You will be required to have routine dental office visits to adjust your bite and evaluate the healing of your gums and jawbone. Implants usually have a healing time of 3–4 months. After a few months the bone will attach to the implant and a normal diet can resume.

Dental Bridge

The dental bridge you will receive on the day of surgery is very strong but made of plastic materials and can weaken over time. After the healing period, usually between 3 and 4 months, you will receive your newly fixed dental bridge made of titanium and highly durable and aesthetic materials.

If you are missing multiple teeth, have ill-fitting dentures or partial dentures, periodontal disease, severely damaged teeth or severe bone loss, the All-on-4® Treatment Concept protocol may be an option for your oral health. It is important to choose a highly qualified dentist with whom you feel comfortable for dental implants or any other type of dental treatment. Dr. Michael Drone is a prosthodontist with extensive knowledge and training in implants, aesthetics, and reconstructive dentistry. Dr. Drone has been involved in designing dental implant solutions and restoring dental implants for many years and has the experience of someone you can trust to take excellent care of you and your teeth.
